Job description: I left my job at the Cincinnati Enquirer in June 2007 to become a
freelance writer. I work from my home office in Northern Cincinnati. I freelanced
part- time for six years before leaving the Enquirer.

I am a contract writer for Northern Kentucky University, and Catalyst Ohio
Magazine, an education policy publication, and have been a contributor to The
Kentucky Gazette, The Cincinnati Business Courier, Soapbox Cincinnati Website,
Kentucky Monthly Magazine, Arts Across Kentucky Magazine, and The Lane Report,
a Kentucky business publication, among others. I’ve done independent book editing
and editing for Cincinnati City Beat and Liquid Word Productions in Detroit.

I am a contract communications writer for the City of Deer Park, Ohio, Sycamore
Township, Ohio, City of Silverton, Ohio, and Northern Kentucky University’s
Research Department. I wrote an article on breaking into the newspaper freelance
market for the 2008 Writer's Market book.

Job Description: Northeast Hamilton County reporter, Butler County Reporter. I
covered diverse aspects of these communities from government meetings to new
housing developments and the arts, while developing stories on lifestyle trends in the
area. Once a week I was the crime and breaking news reporter for the paper.

2003-2005
The Kentucky Post/The Cincinnati Post, daily newspaper
Cincinnati, OH
Job Description: Government and political reporter, covering regional state and
federal government and officials in Northern Kentucky and Frankfort; lead campaign
reporter. I covered the Kentucky governor's race, several congressional campaigns
and a U.S. Senate race. Also represented the newspaper on public television, at
political debates and forums and on public radio.

2000-2003

Job Description: Statehouse reporter covering government issues in an in-depth,
newsmagazine style. Topics included Medicaid, the state budget and statewide
campaigns. Publication was read by government insiders including lobbyists, state
legislators and fellow reporters.
