About WriteUP! and owner Feoshia Henderson
The story of Feoshia Henderson: Feoshia grew up in rural Mt.
Sterling, Ky., the “Gateway” into Eastern Kentucky. As a young
bookworm, she decided to become a writer at 10 years old. Feoshia’s
interest in journalism piqued when she joined her high school
newspaper staff in the early 1990s. Over the next few years, she honed
her writing and interviewing skills at Eastern Kentucky University.
Feoshia became a professional journalist in 1998 when she joined the
staff of the small daily newspaper, The Richmond Register, while still
in college.
After graduating, she went to work at several newspapers in central
Kentucky and in Greater Cincinnati including The Cincinnati Enquirer
and The Kentucky Post. She also began freelance writing for
Kentucky magazines, including Arts Across Kentucky, Kentucky
Monthly and Louisville Magazine. In 2007 she left her job at The
Cincinnati Enquirer to start WriteUP! copywriting services.
Feoshia has a strong background in political and community
reporting, and became known for a penchant for detail, fairness and
personality in her writing. Before starting WriteUP!, she spent two
years covering suburban life in Cincinnati communities for The
Cincinnati Enquirer. In the summer of 2007, Feoshia decided to use
her journalism skills to help businesses and government and non-profit
agencies pen their unique stories and better communicate them with
their own clients. She has lived in the Greater Cincinnati area since
2003.
As a freelance writer, was published The 2008 Writer’s Market
book. She has also written pieces for Kentucky Monthly, Kentucky
Woman, Louisville Magazine, and the defunct Kentucky and Indiana
